I was wondering what to do about this when a box popped up saying it had detected a new interface on PCI slot 34. Once I selected this new interface it found the right DHCP settings and auto connected to the network. USB support works. VMware shared folders works once you set the host's shared folders path. Sound didn't work for me because of a PCI slot conflict. In the.vmx file sound is assigned to PCI slot 34 which was grabbed by the ethernet interface.

'About This Mac' shows 1GB of memory no matter what you allocate in virtual machine settings. To sum up, the only things I changed from the vm I downloaded was to change the cpu cores from 4 to 2 and to do the update to 10.6.2. As there was no problem doing this suggests that future updates will also not be a problem. I'm a Mac NOOB, so I can't really answer any questions you might have. If anyone finds a way to add extra screen resolutions please post the answer in a comment. It is slow on my rig, but I'm only using it as a cheap way to teach myself OS X.
I'd be interested to know how it performs on a fast quad core Phenom. Note:- EmpireEFI4AMD.iso has to stay in the virtual CD drive for all this to work. You'll have to add another CD drive (virtual or physical) in machine settings if you want to mount another disk. EmpireEFI4AMD makes it possible to install OS X on a physical AMD machine using an unaltered off-the-shelf OS X retail disk! Okay i downloaded Asus P5W-DH by macita (lightweight version by MACinized) and burnt a disc from the.iso he gave me. I rebooted my comp and booted onto that disc. I ejected the bootloader and put in retail leopard. Hit enter twice, and it started to load. First off it gave me ebios device errors. Then it told me the computer could not start. Pausing 5 seconds.
It then flashed me some more code something like cpu 9. I saw the white screen with gray apple for a second! Then my computer rebooted. I have tried to repeat this process with -v and -x. Am i using the wrong boot-132? Thanks again.UPDATE I went and changed alot of the bios settings as seen here: it booted and finally made it past the apple loading screen. Now its stuck at the umbrella loading spinner and the leopard background right before the language selection.

Hey forest, im still attempting to use the boot-132 method. So far ive downloaed and burnt 2 different boot-132 discs one built for the p5w dh deluxe and one just a generic bootloader.
Everytime i get a error that says 'a error occured pausing 5 seconds' then the screen flashes the while apple logo screen then the computer reboots. I've also tried this with -v and -x no luck. Any help is apprecited thanks -v flags verbose mode so you can see the bootlog. What does it say before the reboot? We'll need to know the last 4-5 lines to isolate the cause. If you can post a picture of the screen before it restarts, do so. You may need to post your BIOS settings as well.
Get that list ready just in case we can't determine the problem from the boot log. My guess is that you have a new or recent version of Leopard retail. Many of the customized boot loaders (like Boot-132) have been based on compatibility with 10.5.1, and are probably outdated for use with your copy if yours is the 10.5.4 retail (I don't know if there was a 10.5.2 or 10.5.3 DVD released). In any case, check what version you have from the box or from the kernel version listed in the boot log (if it gets that far). Well at least im closer any help is appreciated Does it ever get to the installer? Have you tried flashing an older / newer BIOS? It might aleviate some of the hangs and stalls you're experiencing, especially if the market release of your CPU is newer than the motherboard itself. Some people say the older BIOS versions are more compatible, but my motherboard is ASUS as well, is already a year old at least, and I've flased the latest version available.

I don't think i used that at all. I think my problem lies here diskutil list (take note of the “IDENTIFIERs”) sudo fdisk –e /dev/rdiskX (where X is the appropriate disk identifier) f 1 (where 1 is the partition number of MacLoader) w y q i typed in diskutil list in terminal got the disc identifier which is disc 2. Typed sudo fdisk -e /dev/rdisk disc2 and a list of commands popped up the partition of boot is disc2s3 so i entered f 3 didn't work unk command tried f disc3 -f 3 bunch of things. Doesn't seem to work.
Um the latest bios not sure what version number but im sure its the latest. Well everything is 'working' for me leopard is running fine, in fact i am typing this message in leopard my only problem is the macloader. I had no luck with that method either, but I am using the same boot 132 disk as you, so what I did was a lot easier and I did not use terminal once, Just fallow these instructions and if all goes well, then you can delete that mac loader partition. I have had some trouble upgrading to 10.5.6 because of my firewire now working so I am just going to stay at 10.5.5 for now. BOOT FROM HARD DISK!!
